What Is Next For Roc Nation After Their Contract Ends With Live Nation

Almost ten years ago, Live Nation and Jay Z entered into a lucrative contract for $150 million. Next year marks the end of the contract and Jay Z is already starting to contact other music industry bigwigs to get them to buy stack in Roc Nation. Live Nation wishes to continue the touring relationship with Jay Z. As far as the recorded music aspect, Live Nation will be backing out of it. The contract isn’t being extended because Live Nation no longer purchases artists rights and recorded music. As of now, Live Nation will not continue relationships that contain the purchase of rights and recorded music. On Wednesday, Desiree Perez and Jay Z met with the chairman of Universal Music Group, Sir Lucian Grainge. This caused rumors to start on whether Universal Music Group and Jay Z will make a deal. Sources within Universal Music Group stated they already had a distribution contract with Roc Nation and that they look forward to opening the doors on other endeavors with Jay Z.
