NumbersUSA Discusses The Effects Of Immigration In The USA

NumbersUSA began in a venture to give Americans the best quality of life by reducing immigrants. It started in 1966 and has been experiencing growth and making its mark on American soil. While the organization advocates limiting grassroots immigration, it is not entirely against admitting outsiders. When journalist Roy Beck founded the group, he desired to take the level of legal immigration into the USA back to how it was in the former years.

The organization prides itself on being a supporter of immigration but only at sustainable levels. The members of NumbersUSA advocate decreased numbers to help give the citizens good quality of life economically and environmentally. They take it upon themselves to educate leaders and the public on the effects of excessive immigration on various platforms. The group is non-partisan and admits people from various political stands to work with them.

Through its civil forums: NumbersUSA Action and NumbersUSA Education and Research Foundation, it enlightens the public, leaders, and policymakers on dangers posed by high immigration numbers on environmental, economic, and American Quality of Life.

The group mainly takes its stand based on two reasons. First, the more people move into the USA, the lesser the availability of jobs, creating a constantly increasing joblessness. Secondly, since the demand for jobs is higher, most people get paid very little money and thus live at the poverty level. Therefore, one may be employed but still live in poverty because their salary is barely enough to meet their basic needs. Thousands of immigrants get low-paying jobs, and some still end up jobless even when they move into America to find work. This situation only worsens as more and more people get admitted into the land.

According to the NumbersUSA website, over one million immigrants get legally admitted into the USA annually. Additionally, approximately one million people illegally move into the land. These numbers are a great contrast to the 250,000 immigrants who used to come into the USA before 1990. The organization desires to see these figures returning to the historical levels, which can only be possible if the government implements strict measures.

The Government should limit the number of people through screening for professionals and immediate family members only. This measure will ensure that those coming in can benefit the economy through their skills and thus reduce the burden of joblessness. Visit this page on LinkedIn, for additional information.
