Renown Health Expands

Renown Health is expanding its territory. The company is opening a new family practice clinic at The Summit Mall in South Reno, Nevada. This clinic is going to provide primary care services and a laboratory. The company may increase available services as time goes on.

During a recent phone interview with NNBW, Dr. McCormack, medical director of Renown Medical Group, explained how this clinic is being created to provide a more welcoming and comfortable setting for those wanting its services. The doctor was quoted as saying “when clients come in we want it to feel like their own living room.” Besides being comfortable, the space will also be very flexible. It will be able to be used as a conference space or area for staff to meet with patients.

A number of other services have been discussed by Renown. Dr. McCormack has indicated he will probably wait to see what changes in the health industry. Changes in the leadership in Washington also have made the company pause to see what the future holds. Currently The South Reno clinic currently will has a staff of 11 people. This number could increase based on future changes. They currently have more than a 10,000-square-foot clinic that covers three vacant storefronts.

Renown Health is Reno, Nevada’s only locally-governed, not-for-profit healthcare network. This is wonderful because all earnings stay right in the local area. Renown’s history dates back to 1862 when it was founded during a smallpox outbreak. The clinic was the area’s first hospital since 1866 when Nevada became an official part of the United States. Renown has gone on to accomplish many great things including increasing the number of doctors in the Nevada area by partnering with he University of Nevada’s School of Medicine.
